Some people seem born with it.
They walk into a room and instantly know what’s going on.
They have a gut feeling about people — and they’re right.
They seem to know when to say yes, when to say no, when to stay and when to walk away.
You’ve probably watched someone like that and thought:
“I wish I could do that too.”
You can.
Intuition isn’t an exclusive club or a gift handed out at birth to a lucky few.
In fact, you were using it long before you knew there was a word for it.
Small children follow their intuition all the time.
“I don’t like that person.”
“I want to sit next to her.”
“The dog’s tummy hurts.”
They don’t have a ten-point argument to back it up.
They just know.
And then, as we grow up, we get very good at overriding that knowing.
We learn to ask for reasons, to look for evidence and to check what everyone else thinks.
And eventually, that first little nudge becomes so easy to ignore that we forget it was there in the first place.
But the ability hasn’t disappeared.
So how do we un-forget it?
We’ll find out tomorrow. 🤩
Today, let’s open the pocket.
Get a piece of paper and a pen.
Don’t guess.
Don’t try to be right.
First impressions are golden. Write or draw the first thing that flashes into your mind — even and especially if it makes no sense and before the doubting mind arrives and edits it. 😉
Notice what comes through:
- A temperature?
- A texture?
- A colour?
- A shape?
- A taste?
- A smell?
- A sound, word, noise, or even a song?
- A feeling in your body?
- A memory or a scene?
- A weight or size?
Close your eyes.
Take a deeeeep breath in and a looooong breath out.
Focus on this photo, then close your eyes and feel what comes through.
So… what did you get?
I’d love to know.
Leave your glimpses in the comments below — even if they are tiny or don’t make any sense to you.
Especially those, actually 😄
And if today’s post stirred up a childhood memory, I’d love to hear about it.

I usually have a good intuition and am mostly right about people. Working in HR, and especially recruiting, this comes in handy. Currently, however, I have a situation with a person, where I don’t seem to get through to her, as in “she does not listen to what I actually say, she just wants to be right”, and it makes me crazy.
As for what is in your pocket… I say a lighter. Not one of those cigarette lighters, but the bulkier ones used for candles on the Christmas tree;-)
Candle lighter — I love that. Warmth and light.
Since you were thinking about that person at the same time maybe your intuition is also telling you that warmth and light would help in that situation? 🥰
In my mind, I saw coins. I could almost feel their weight.
Amazing that you could feel the weight of them! Trust that. Keep going! 👏
I think there are keys in your pocket, but that’s only a guess, no intuition involved.
The guessing strategy 😃 Fair enough. If you stick with keys for 31 days, you’ll be right at least once 😉…
I see a chocolate bar in your pocket. Yum.
For the childhood memory I saw a very young me sitting around the Christmas tree opening presents with all my family around. It’s a very happy memory.
Beautiful memory Barbara. I’m curious: Could you feel what’s in the presents before opening them? 😊
I used to be good at reading people but lately I’m a bit more careful. I can pick someone out who is genuine though just from a short meeting. As for your pocket, I’m going with a small round flashlight so you can always see the light.
Well done Martha. 👏
And I’m super curious: when you say ‘lately I’m a bit more careful’ why do you feel like you have to be careful with your intuition? 😊
Interesting thoughts about intuition. I feel we should always listen to our “guts” when they start feeling 🙂 I wish you could people understand that and not think it’s some freak Friday concept…..
With all the AI stuff and deep fake we’ll all need to learn to trust our gut feeling more and more 😊. What did you get today? 😃
I never trusted my intuition and then was shocked when it was right. With today’s picture, I felt that I was being enveloped by the warmth of a fuzzy blanket and that I saw the beauty of brightness.
I know, it’s a shame we don’t learn as children to trust what we’re getting. But it’s never too late to start 😃.
What you got sounds like the thing that was in my pocket felt really cosy and comfy while being in there 😄…
Well done!
I visualized a brownish orange maple leaf in your pocket. I could hear and feel the crunch of the dry leaf. It made me think of when I was a kid, my mom and I would go for a fall walk and collect pretty leaves. Then we would press them in wax paper. Connecting to my intuition has become a big part of my life now. I remember the days of overriding it. Those experiences taught me to trust myself and that inner guidance system. I am looking forward to tomorrow’s post! 🙂
You know what’s funny: I’ve been thinking of leaves for the past two days.
Our neighbour’s tree is spitting it’s leaves into our garden and we also have a vine that is turning beautifully red now so I was wondering which leaf I should choose for the pocket 😁…
My first thought is a carrot. I’m thinking food for a dog or horse. I’m sticking with it.
Commitment to the first thought 👏 Very good! That’s the muscle we’re training — trusting what comes first, before doubt talks you out of it. 🤪
