The Cat Who Didn’t Want to Talk About Dying
Hannah had a question she really wanted her cat to answer. But when Mika finally spoke, she completely ignored the question—and gave her something much more important instead…
this is not Beau
Claire had questions. Lots of them.
About her health, her work, her relationships. About what to do next.
And her cat Beau kept giving her the same answer 😃
You already know.
Not in a “come on, woman, obviously!” kind of way. More like… stop looking outside yourself. Stop doubting. You’ve had the answer the whole time.
And when Claire asked what more she could be doing, Beau didn’t give her a to-do list. He just showed her: he pressed his paw against her heart. Little pink toe beans and everything. And then he said one word: “Heal.”
Listen to your heart. Connect with it. That’s where your own wisdom is.
Over and over: you already know what you need to know. Stop questioning yourself. Stop doubting.
And at some point I stopped asking questions myself. Because I realised what Beau was doing.
This wasn’t a cat handing out wisdom. The wisdom wasn’t his to give — it was already hers. He was just reminding her where it was.
And Claire did know. You could see it. Something inside her just went… oh. I knew that.
And that’s what the animals are really good at:
They don’t give you their wisdom.
They give you yours back.

What could a robin possibly know about your self-worth? Apparently, quite a lot.
